Upcoming Infrastructure Projects in Mumbai – Leading to High Demand for Residential Properties

Upcoming Infrastructure Projects in Mumbai (Mumbai Metro, MTHL & More)

Mumbai ranks among the cities with the highest population, and it keeps growing. This has led to high demand for residential properties, especially in the suburbs. However, due to the upcoming infrastructure projects in Mumbai, we can expect the demand for residential properties in Mumbai to increase as well. These upcoming projects in Mumbai include new airports, seaports, and metro lines, making traveling to and from all parts of Mumbai much easier.

To have easy access to everything the city has to offer, many people who work or do business in Mumbai will wish to own property there. The upcoming infrastructural developments in Mumbai that are going to have a big impact on the real estate market will be covered in this blog post.

Let’s look at these projects.

1. Mumbai Metro

The Mumbai metro is intended to ease city traffic and augment the congested train system. Mumbai’s metro system will include 14 metro lines covering 350 kilometers when it is finished. It will significantly improve infrastructure and connectivity. The whole Mumbai Metro project is anticipated to cost more than 1.4 lakh crores. The Mumbai metro would significantly transform the appearance of Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai once it begins operating.

Metro rail will herald a shift in people’s commutes and lifestyles thanks to its extensive reach, pleasant AC coaches, first-rate stops, easy booking process, and many other features. Working jointly with the Mumbai and Navi-Mumbai metro systems, they will provide a last-mile connection to the city’s business and residential areas.

Another upcoming infrastructure project in Mumbai is the 21.8 km Mumbai Trans-Harbor Sea Link (MTHL), which spans the harbor between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The six-lane rail bridge is advertised as being the world’s longest bridge. The whole MTHL project is estimated to cost more than INR 17,000 crores. The footbridge will start in Sewri, span Thane Creek to the north of Elephanta Island, and end at Chirle hamlet close to Nhava Sheva. It will have direct access to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the Nhava Sea Port, and the Mumbai-Goa Highway.

Mumbai is also a great place to live for those looking for an exciting and eventful lifestyle. The city has something to offer everyone, whether they are looking for a quiet and peaceful life or a fast-paced and vibrant lifestyle.

3. Airoli-Katai Tunnel Road

It is a 1.7-kilometer-long route that runs across Parsik Hill and connects Airoli to the Kalyan-Shil corridor. The 33.8km Kalyan-Shilphata route, which runs from Airoli to Katai Naka, includes the 1.7km Tunnel Road. Mangroves, flyovers, valleys, and railroad tracks are all crossed by it. The six-lane highway will considerably shorten the distance between Airoli and Shilphata.

The residents of Kalyan-Shil Road, Dombivli East, and Navi Mumbai will experience a shift in their way of life due to the Airoli-Katai tunnel route. The journey time is cut by 30–40% on average. Accessibility to the industrial centers of Bhiwandi and Badlapur is made simple by the tunnel route. Additionally, it enables quick access to Mulund and some other Mumbai suburbs.

4. Coastal Road

The 22-km-long coastline road is a motorway from Marine lines to Kandivali. This infrastructure investment in Mumbai is expected to cost INR 12,000 crores. The trip from the western suburbs to South Mumbai requires around two hours. This journey time will be cut in half to 40 minutes thanks to the functioning of the road project.

This construction will be completed in two phases. A 10-km segment of the initial phase runs from Princess Street Flyover on Marine lines to BKC, and the Versova-Bandra sea link is one of the projects in the second phase.
